Resident Evil is actually my personal top-rated video game movie. Because I’m a plot guy. As a video game adaptation, and of a CAPCOM series, it came in with the lowest expectations you could imagine, took what should by all rights have been a box-checking exercise in stringing eye-candy sequences together and delivered so well it retroactively made the games make sense.
