Also “Taylor Swift was the first female country artist to sing about BPD” is a bad take. I mean,
“Taylor Swift was the first female country artist to acknowledge BPD” also a bad take! She didn’t! She’s been doing it all in subtext, it’s just the 21st century and she’s better as a lyricist!

Like guys, I had one insult anon back in the day who I respected as a “thou too art mortal” in the ear but you crowd, you’re just bog-standard haters. Which Taylor Swift explained how to deal with seven years ago

So I’ve said for a while that Taylor Swift regularly deliberately writes her lyrics to accommodate multiple readings. My theory for this one, off 2019’s Lover, is that past the obvious sick-loved-one reading, there’s a reading where Taylor Swift is singing it to America
And I hate to make this all about me
But who am I supposed to talk to?
What am I supposed to do
If there’s no you?
This won’t go back to normal, if it ever was
It’s been years of hoping, and I keep saying it because
‘Cause I have to

Huh, it’s for a script she wrote herself, that has promise.
(And it retrospectively shows that her expansion of All Too Well into a 14-minute version with an accompanying short film was essentially an audition to prove herself)

Taylor Swift doing Capital One commercials is interesting.
Ultimate comedy option is she’s just doing them to get credits towards her Screen Actors Guild health insurance
Oh my God what if she had been doing it to get in before the strike?

We don’t talk enough about how amazing Taylor Swift’s “Begin Again” is for being a sincere, heartfelt appreciation of a rebound relationship you’re having to get over a breakup.

Anonymous asked:
Well she's single again, how 'bout dating Taylor Swift NOW?
She has a very clear type – celebrities – that I’m not. (Should point out that as someone fixated on control in life, “minor celebrity” is maybe her sweet spot – they’d still be impressed, but the brightest star in the industry has leverage over them in a way she wouldn’t over some random florist)
Even all the way back in You Belong With Me she wants a Football Star – the celebrities of the popular conception of high school
It’s actually probably kind of weird for her that at this point there is no chance she could end up with a man who socially outranks her
