Like no that is absolutely what HST is doing here, at one point he has to manually cock the gun cause the last shot didn’t recock it. Firing pistol ammunition that doesn’t even reliably cycle the gun at a target uphill in the distance doesn’t represent a serious attempt to engage them, it’s quotative gunplay
