As someone who traditionally drew a lot of his power from the way human lives were actually pretty consistent over time and you could learn from appreciating and applying the wisdom and experience of previous generations let me say how weird it is that on turning 40 I’m suddenly hyper-aware of how unlike and in a totally different universe from the younger people out at bars I am but also suddenly far more charming and attractive than I’m calibrated for
