The “nannycam” branding around it (you could see how babysitters acted when you weren’t around) was actually pretty efficient in how it built a child-protection rationale that incidentally focused on specifically unrelated young women expecting privacy in your home (you never saw it framed around contractors or dogwalkers or pool guys, or even latchkey problem children) but kind of comical in how perfunctory it was
