Alright, question for the YIMBYs:

What if a development company wants to build an amusement park next door? The roller coasters themselves will make significant noise, and also you will hear the screams of the damned during operating hours.

I already live next door to a preschool I don't see how it could be any different

Less biohazardous than the preschool

But seriously with a land value tax I don't think you get roller coasters built very centrally. They're not that profitable per area, are they?

There are some that are built in cities, perhaps not in the deepest parts, but ones like Luna Park in Sydney, or Linnanmaki in Helsinki, or Knott's Berry Farm in Buena Park (within the LA metropolitan area).

But that's a dodge, either way. "They won't build it next to where I want to live!" But suppose that they did! Well, you did answer "Based" already, so I guess I only shave off a fraction of a point for the posthumous dodge.

Oh no I have to live next to sickass roller coasters. How much is the season pass?

flakmaniak

Probably a lot, if you live in a city! Or not much, if you don't!

The issue with being next to an amusement park isn’t the noise, it’s the heavy traffic every day of visitors who aren’t familiar with the local roads at all
