I am at this point a bit thinner than “Fat Thor”, and I am starting to wonder what I can do about what I can do to keep/put on weight, to maintain a reserve in case I keep having to run off anaerobic energy for stretches of time.

The issue seems to be that in these phases blood sugar isn’t usable for energy; I’m assuming it doesn’t get stored as fat either (or else the calories->fat->energy chain is so inefficient I’m losing appreciable weight off eating normal meals anyway?). So I’ve gotta overeat in between episodes when my energy levels are fine without taking creatine? (Recalling that the shallowest part of that I’m probably still draining fat running on anaerobic energy, just at a rate supportable by the body’s natural creatine levels)

What about lipid calories? Do those have to process via blood sugar somehow or convert directly to adipose tissue, or what?

  5. kontextmaschine said: @talkinggorillabutler that is not relevant to my situation, where managing fat burning is not the issue but rather packing on enough to support stretches of obligate anaerobic power when the long covid acts up and I can’t rely on aerobic power from blood sugar
