When will we see a backlash against psychiatry, and the current mental health professions more broadly?
I dunno what “therapy” even is these days, it’s not psychiatry and when ministers did it they were at least professionals with thick ideologies behind them
I don’t get this at all. Why would a ‘thick ideology‘ matter to diagnosing and treating phobias, depression or PTSD? Do you also ask your dentist for a bible verse when they tell you to floss?
Unless of course you think that pharmacological treatments are the only way to go with mental illness, in which case the literature very much disagrees with that.
Well when girls (“girls”) talk about getting “therapy” it doesn’t seem in any addressing-DSM-issues sense as much as “becoming a better and more wholly complete person” and at least the ministers had something behind them saying what that was
