Thinking about The Boondocks (2005-2014), the adaptation of the newspaper comic that, like Doonesbury before it, some papers ran on the editorial page as more appropriate to its subject and can’t help wondering how much the Atlanta-based Adult Swim was playing to itself with “Black people move to the suburbs and interface with mainstream American life” as an angle on the world
