Some context for the MBS/Khashoggi thing is historically, it is totally normal for Arab succession crises to resolve with an heir (among many of the ruler’s children through many women) securing the inheritance by establishing a dominance secure enough to execute challengers, we just haven’t seen one in a while (Saudi Arabian rulership had previously passed among eldest living sons of founder Ibn Saud, MBS is third generation and currently effectively rules through a second generation father he is slated to succeed)
