Conservatives arguing over whether the individual abortion cases popping up are individually moral or not or whether they’re being used unfairly by pro-choice but don’t seem to understand the issue goes much further than even that, the issue of legal ambiguity isn’t really possible to avoid.
I’m kind of amazed at the lack of PR planning and foresight for overturning Roe. Like, this shit with the girl from Ohio is going to happen every month, forever, and every time it will have wall-to-wall media coverage where every thoughtless, heartless quote from a pro-life official will be broadcast endlessly. All of this was foreseeable. You guys didn’t plan for it?
There’s not really any play in the system at this point, I think that a more significant effect of publicity than marginal shifts in the uncommitted might be morale hits among intense partisans: look, here, the fate one side foretold has come to pass and the system grinds on, the losers’ failure is personified and dramatized until internalized
