Because the country name Poland sounds like “pole land”, as a kid, I always imagined Poland as just this entire country centered around a big pole in the middle of it

Then one time when I was in college, I was looking up photos of different world cities out of curiosity, and I found out that there is ACTUALLY a giant famous pole in front of the castle in the middle of Warsaw, the capital of Poland, that has been there for centuries
