Surprised you don’t see more ReBoot nostalgia

I don’t think it’s that surprising.

Anime was breaking through to the American market - a lot of it.

ReBoot was in a bit of an awkward position.

If you’re not much of a nerd you’ll probably prefer conventional Western cartoons.

If you are a nerd you’ll probably prefer one of a dozen different anime broadcast in the US at the time - it’s stiff competition.

Also, ReBoot is Zeerustic 90s cyberspace - it’s really a fantasy realm not representative of actual computing.

But at least it’s not animated as poorly as Questworld. I think film historians won’t judge it disfavorably.

Gonna be weird when it’s on Adult Swim/Toonami in 2026
