The thing is I first came across VDare through Steve Sailer in the comments in Matt Yglesias’ blog two decades ago (with maybe some scene-setting from the paleoconservatives at antiwar.org, as found through daily free-market.net links in the 90s?) and for the ‘00s it was all blog-era internet shit, so whenever I see it invoked in relation to actual politics it’s always kinda surreal
