i think a little bit of elitism is good for your mental health sometimes. like at some point in the 2010s it became accepted that condescension towards pop culture enjoyers was psuedointellectual and cringe, and sometimes it certainly is. but if you just regard everyone who seriously cares about like johnny depp or whoever as kind of a dumbass with bad taste whose ideas aren’t worth taking too seriously you will save yourself a lot of time and energy. like what if instead of constantly dunking on and arguing with the marvel movie harry potter disney adults you just said “that’s fucking stupid” and thought about something else. im just saying! let yourself experience a little unselfconscious contempt towards contemptible shit, as a treat
