One of the interesting effects of this all has been realizing how much of the reputation of cocaine and benzodiazepines is just like, no, they’re honest anxiolytics, and that’s just what life without anxiety is

I mean cocaine is a stimulant on top of that, it gives you the energy to chase your dreams (but mostly just tell people about them) at the same time it unlocks the shackles holding you back (from reveling in the triumph before you’ve done a damn thing)
