So if we’re talking Magic just how does “Exile” compare to the old “Bury”?

Bury is/was putting the card in the graveyard, while exile removes it from play entirely. While a lot of stuff interacts with the graveyard there’s not anything that can interact with exiled cards

Oh so like “removed from game”

Exile is literally the new name for that mechanic since it occurs so commonly in every set. Generally a card only...
  3. theothin said: yeah “exile” was introduced in the magic 2010 rules changes as a replacement for “removed from the game”. the old cards all got errata, the only difference is that wishes can’t get cards from exile (aside from some new ones that specifically say so)

I think everything that said "removed from the game" is errata'd to "exile" (see Oblivion Ring reprints). "bury [x]" got...

More or less, though IIRC it's not technically outside of the game, just in a different zone, because I don't think that...

Wasn't there something from the ante card days that could mess with that?
