Again, been in the house long enough that I’m really impressed what I’ve done with the trees.

Really struck by how like, the logic of how a tree takes shape, which I just used to just take for granted in the background, is an emergent property of like, sunlight and rain and soil conditions and chemically pumped hydraulics.

Thinking about how our 20th century ideas of plastic surgery and the “mad scientist” were shaped by the fact that for thousands of years it was actually fairly common to make living things beautiful by periodically amputating the wrong parts
