So two more developments of returning control to my very furthest extremities in a way that makes a big difference:
First, sometime between yesterday morning and going to the supermarket at 10 PM, I recovered full three-degrees-of-freedom control of my heels, which is apparently key to maintaining vertical stability while applying curve to my walk path. That done, at least while holding on to the shopping cart handle my gait felt normal and controlled for the first time in years.
Second, I woke up today and the butterfingers were gone. Like, you think that’s a cutesy term for a clumsy guy, no, the thing is my finger pads actually lost traction as if covered in butter, trying to pinch something between two fingers didn’t hold it, it squeezed it out to shoot off
I know they wrinkle a lot in the bath, maybe something nerve-triggered was ruffing them up somehow, but after getting used to it for a year and a half it feels like they’re coated in rosin, rubbing fingers together is almost sandpapery
Oh wow no, finger friction is right on the border of my ability right now that such if I subject myself to enough strain I lose it — but on the left hand before the right. That is so weird
