Like yesterday there was foof because some news story put out under a CNN label said in passing that there was no consensus on how to determine a baby’s sex (not gender) at birth
And maybe they meant to make some intersex point, the hidden angle of hospital birthing is doctors stand ready to fix kids who come out weird and that’s more than you think
But like, is there a “consensus”, generally accepted way to distinguish newborns as male or female? Yes, there in fact is, and the mentality that would casually dismiss it in passing in the name of compatibility with opening maximal space for fluidity, writing a better world into being? That’s a bit much, and you get unapologetic pushback.
