I also remember there being a general public interest in the macabre when I was younger. You're a little older than me, but do you remember those ghost hunter shows from the early 2000s? They were always disappointing but they at least had the spooky. Conversely, Stranger Things is popular now (or was a few years ago).

Well Stranger Things is intentionally a throwback but almost to the ‘80s movies that were based on stuff from a half-generation earlier. Eleven comes from that PSI stuff that was already past (though I might have even done those ESP cards as a kid investigated as “gifted” in the 80s, I remind you my mother was once assistant to the MKULTRA-ass psychiatrist Martin Orne)
