Speaking Australian Irish to my fellow Australian Irish, our forebears did not survive being forcibly dispossessed  of their homelands, and interred on country not our own for their ancestors to start running prison islands of our own.

They didn’t survive being robbed of their language and culture for their decedents to use the same tools against Indigenous cultures across Australia.

I’m a quarter Irish and would like to remind Irish-Americans that there was literally a time when we were denied jobs strictly on the basis of being Irish, so don’t you DARE turn around and say immigrants are stealing your job or that Black folks at your work only got the job because of affirmative action, because those are the words of the enemy.
