Prompt: Discuss the role of the "officer class" in the culture of rural America, and the implications (or lack thereof) of recent events in shifting that role. My thesis: we're going to see internal violence in the military of grunts v. officers on the scale of Vietnam if Trump goes for a third term.

Vietnam intra-military conflict was highly racialized. And the layer in between grunts and officers – career NCOs – is disproportionately minorities, you should factor that in.
