Here’s the effect with different camera lenses while keeping the subject the same size.
People don’t understand film/pictures compress a 3D world onto 2D and sometimes things don’t read the same - hence why some people are photogenic and why some aren’t. It has nothing to do with beauty and everything to do whether or not your facial angles compress well onto a 2D surface.
Photography is amazing.
