siliquasquama said: I’ve heard of Royko. Got a few of his books, mostly because of my dad. I read a book written about CHicago by a resident and I thought they might have something nice to say about Royko, but they were like “oh he’s a mean old crank, what did he ever say that was good.” But he said a lot of good stuff. And he wrote the definitive biography of Richard J Daley which doesn’t shy away from its accusations.
