Dude, who even knows.

Alright, so tomorrow we’re doing a gridiron, that’s a pinball tournament formatted after an NFL season, where everyone is matched to a team, plays their schedule, and then proceeds to playoffs by NFL rules. We used to do it yearly in the mid-2010s, but this is the first time in six years; it’s great cause at the end the playoffs eligibility gives you intense rooting interests in total strangers’ games.
I am the Tennessee Titans.
Going into a bye week, the Titans are 0-6 :(

Wait is it called Guns N Roses as an antonym to bread and butter by reference to “bread and roses” and the economic guns/butter abstraction?

Back when I had – well not just the anxiety disorder but merely the ability to feel loss at all – I used to make myself regularly envision actively accepting the death of loved ones in the name of higher goals, so that I would never (or at least be confident that I would never) risk falling to corruption that way.

So I’ll roll my eyes when thought-they-were-winning types whine about editors trying to commission their way into anti-wokeness happening, but it is really funny how much energy went into fluffing up the lower Manhattan thing when the vibe turned without them ever mattering.

Basically everyone in their mid-20s I have met and not followed up on for two decades is still filed in the same drawer; sorry.

Well it is a nice thing about Portland that even the 2023 new arrivals replacing a more grizzled (but ultimately resolved to things) crowd at least know how to sing along to Friends in Low Places
That’s Garth Brooks, the guy who oversaw the ‘90s mainstreaming of country Billy Ray Cyrus merely heralded! But still.

Realizing that now that the anxiety zeroing means I don’t need the anxiolytic effect of alcohol (that’s what “I don’t need alcohol/drugs to have fun!” means) and I’m also not compulsively drawn to order and down drinks just cuz I’m at a bar, I could stand to go driving further afield at nights.
The one downside is my developed ability to see (and understand what I’m seeing) in 3D drops to like 25% at night now. Even in evening twilight it gets hard to determine if something in the middle distance is 2 blocks or half a block away.
Also sad to say I think I lost a permanent bonus to Awareness checks when the anxiety disorder went away.
